Scott H Biram, Black Pistol Fire

When: Fri., Oct. 4, 9 p.m. 2013
Price: $8-10
Austin's Scott H. Biram is a bluesy Hank Williams descendant, sidling between desolate odes to resilience, manic episodes of brash indifference and professions of love that sound more like a curse. The guy survived a head-on collision with a semi, and his music is infused with the ramshackle vivacity to match, as evidenced by his song titles: "Broke Ass," "Lost Case of Being Found," "Still Drunk, Still Crazy, Still Blue." If there's a monochromatic cast to Biram's attitude, he's an inventive player who balances searing chug and acrobatic knife-edge pirouettes. —Chris Parker
