Sarah Goetz Artist Talk

When: Fri., Dec. 6, 6:30 p.m. 2013
For some film artists, sculpture has served as a stepping stone from the visual arts into moving images. Is that where Durham-based artist Sarah Goetz is headed? You can ask her on First Friday when she talks about her installation work how to become stainless steel, on display at Visual Art Exchange through Dec. 21. Goetz has shown work ranging from storefront installations set in motion by fans to two-dimensional work integrating ink, watercolor and almost invisibly small handwriting. In this work, she brings video projection and sculpture together for the first time and creates a markedly darker work than ever before. —Chris Vitiello
