Rough Draft: A Night of New Solos

When: June 28-29, 8 p.m. 2013
Price: $10

In many ways, a one-person show is the ultimate dramatic dare—and when the material is autobiographical, the stakes are raised. Regional performers Katja Hill and Lormarev Jones walk the theatrical tightwire alone in two solo works-in-progress. In Debris, Hill recounts confronting the touching (and at times absurd) materiality of her mother's life while settling the estate after her death. [Disclosure: Hill is married to INDY Week culture editor David Fellerath.] In The Virgin Cookbook, Jones declosets as a 30-year-old in that state and relates some of the responses she's encountered over the years while informing others of her choice. —Byron Woods
