Roman Holiday

When: Fri., May 17, 8 p.m. 2013
Price: $5-7
Roman Holiday is one of the most charming movies ever. Audrey Hepburn, in her first starring (and Oscar-winning) role, plays a cloistered princess who shakes off her guardians for an unsupervised romp through Rome. Along the way, she rides a Vespa, gets a chic new haircut and falls in love with a reporter played by Gregory Peck (swoon). I saw this 1953 film last summer at a public screening in Manhattan's Bryant Park, and I swear, even all those hardened New Yorkers left beaming. Roman Holiday closes out NCMA's Vacanza Italiana spring film series. —Emma Miller
