Re: “Chancellor's Ridge resident takes issue with neighborhood board's support of protest petition

Steve - 17 out of 18, then. Again, that's not really the point. It cold be 18 out of 18, or 25 out of 25. My point is that the Board represents over 450 residences, and didn't consult us before acting on our behalf.

Your comment that you "know many CR residents who oppose this project" is meaningless. As is the fact that I know more who are for it than against. We obviously run in different circles. The only way to really put a value on it is to ask everyone, which hasn't happened.

But even if that were to happen, even if the majority of the neighborhood felt one way or the other, it's not the purpose of the HOA to get involved in situations like this, where their actions have far-reaching effects outside the boundaries of CR.

I'm not sure why you mention the developers - I wrote this as a concerned resident. I'm certainly not working with/for the developers and I didn't get my info from them.

@Steve - I'm curious about where you got 17 out of 18. I'm not doubting it, but the only numbers I saw were on a previous Triangulator column (http://tinyurl.com/2w2nhyr), which to me boiled down to "19 signatures of ... 33 people who were eligible." Regardless, if you drop that parenthetical statement out of my letter, the overall message remains the same: the Board acted on behalf of a tiny minority of the 450+ CR residences.
