Re: “Amendment 1: Opponents make final appeal and hope the polls are wrong

kavika52 - Clearly you're not truly familiar with the Bible's ideology surrounding the concept of slavery. No where in the Bible does God support slavery. First verse that comes to mind is Exodus 21:16 - "He who kidnaps a man, whether he sells him or he is found in possession, shall surely be put to death." From Old Testament perspective, anyone caught selling another person into slavery, was executed. Moving into the New Testament, during the time of Christ, read the letter Paul wrote from a Roman prison while he was awaiting trial. Philemon 15-21. Galations 3:28, Ephesians 6:8-9, and Colossians 3:11. The idea the God or Christianity, or NC Biblicans as you say, encourages or approves of slavery is completely false and was discouraged. "It is only the ignorant who despise education." - Publilius Syrus
