Rick Springfield, Loverboy, The Romantics

When: Sat., Sept. 5, 7 p.m. 2015
Price: $25-$89.50
Some things Rick Springfield has done in the last 15 or so months: published his debut novel, Magnificent Vibration, about a phone number that just happens to connect to God; acted alongside Colin Farrell and Meryl Streep (separately); beat a New York lawsuit known as the “butt injury” litigation. And, oh yes, the whole music thing: His most recent album, Stripped Down, captures an unplugged set of songs and stories. He’s plugged in once again this summer, and his sweaty, high-energy shows bring in the die-hards by the carload. The sweet-and-sour crunch of his pop gems, however, can please any listener with an ear for hooks. —Maura Johnston
