What's the N.C. Symphony doing in a garbage dump? In this collaboration with Canada's Platypus Theatre, they're teaming up with two gifted clowns who find music in everyday junk. Though reminiscent of the improvised busking of STOMP, Peter Duschenes and Danielle Desormeaux's soulful characters find fun and solace in their solo turns on sandpaper, saw and pop bottles to music from Strauss, Copland and Prokofiev, among others. The result is children's programming that's not for children only. 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. —Byron Woods
