Remora, Weather Machine, Slicnation, Arte Provera

When: Thu., July 29, 9:30 p.m. 2010
Price: $5

Remora, the outlet for Raleigh's Brian John Mitchell, has been in constant flux since its 1996 inception. Whether Mitchell is performing instrumentally or crafting and interpreting bittersweet pop tunes, the drone is constant; like the lapping at a lakeshore, oscillations saturate Remora's work. It's the melodic components that differ. This whole evening, though, is a bit of a drone buffet, from Weather Machine's patient, ominous crackle to Slicnaton's heavy keyboard glow and Arte Povera's casual guitar strums, which lay across the static hum of collected field recordings.
