Raw Dog 10th Anniversary Madness

When: Thu., Nov. 3, 9 p.m. 2016
Price: $5
Raleigh’s Raw Dog, led by Manning “MK5” Kimmel and supported by a revolving cast of players, has spent the past decade crafting irreverent comedy punk, indebted to the likes of GWAR and Mojo Nixon. Songs like “Meat Is Murder...And Murder Tastes Good” is bludgeoning punk with the title’s punch line bent into an insistent hook. “Captain Belligerent” is a ragged cowpunk tune that might tuck more than a little truth into its tongue-in-cheek anthem of assholery: “The best times that I’ve had,” Kimmel sings, “Are when I’m making people mad.” Jehovah’s Witness Protection Program and 49/Short open. —Bryan C.
