It's pretty fascinating to read this in 2015, after having lived here for a grand total of two months. Coming from Atlanta and working RTP, I have been unpleasantly surprised by what appears to be a great setup with so much potential (I feel like I hear about the growth every other day) and yet, very little to show for it, as far as what I would expect from a major metro center. I ask people about what there is to do in one place or the other and it feels like people don't really care about the area holistically. It feels like two small-ish towns surrounded by more small towns rather than a region growing together. I chose to reside near the airport for ease of access to both city centers... yet, I'm beginning to more so enjoy the easy access the airport.
