Re: “Jason Adamo's Sunflower

I have seen Jason Adamo several times and though occassional he has impressed me in the live setting in Chapel Hill and Raleigh, this album is does not live up to what may be considered peeks of a good songwriter/performer maturing. The songwriting on the album is cliche and most of these songs come with very little pop hook or texture, leaving you wonder on many what exactly is chorus or verse, where the memorable parts are intended by the songwriter and what he considers a "hook". The question now become if those short 2 or 3 song peaks of impressive performances during his live shows were truly signs of growing talent or periods of pure dumb luck where everything just happened to fall into place before quickly falling apart again (similar to the unimpressive product of this album).
