Rahat Fateh Ali Khan

When: Sun., April 29, 6:30 p.m. 2012
Price: $49-$109

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan walks tall as one of Bollywood's leading playback singers, even in the shadow of his legendary uncle, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Like Nusrat, the world music icon who recorded with Eddie Vedder and Peter Gabriel, Rahat fills stadiums throughout the world with his silken voice and tremendous range, and he's just as comfortable crooning pop hits as devotional Qawwali, the music of Sufi Islam. Expect a big turnout from the Triangle's South Asian community, but there are no boundaries for this global megastar. The performance begins at 6:30 p.m.; tickets run $49–$109 and are available at Palika Bazaar in Cary or by calling 404-718-0009. —Sylvia Pfeiffenberger
