I'm disturbed by the apparent class privilege dripping from some of the comments in this thread. If, indeed, a drive through Palo Alto could shine some light on what Chapel HIll could "hope for", we would be remiss without a subsequent drive through East Palo Alto to illustrate the unethical and dangerous consequences of driving forward an economic development plan that fails to incorporate ALL of our community members. In a town where multi-million dollar businesses are erected next door to neighbors struggling through increasing food insecurity (yes, our neighbors, in Chapel Hill, starving), I can't imagine voting for a mayor that didn't champion social justice.
