Re: “This week in disappointment: New education laws prompt teacher to leave North Carolina

"People in my situation—single, no kids, no deep roots to North Carolina—are looking to get out of the state."

OK if it weren't for the awesome NC countryside, the talented local music scene, the tasty numerous micro-breweries, the coffee shops that roast their own coffee and the high-caliber sports scene, I think the young people would vote with their feet and there would be a mass exodus of the best and brightest to other states such as Washington state, Oregon or Colorado. Too bad Governor McCrory doesn't legalize cannabis cultivation (which would provide employment), tax cannabis products and with the revenue pay teachers at least $15,000 more per year so NC is #1 in teacher pay and have the K-12 system collaborate with the university system to be the model educational system in the US. Tom Tomorrow's latest cartoon of Republicanado depicting a tornado of flying Republicans ripping through Planned Parenthood clinics, snatching food stamps from mothers, and obsfucating the voting process is unfortunately spot on. Off to brighter pastures and greener horizons where angry white men don't rule me.
