You’d be hard-pressed to find a better showcase in DIY electronics. Between last December’s Finding the Floor and the new Extremities EP, Noah Anthony, or Profligate, offers expertise in both modern EBM and noise-beat abstraction. Meanwhile, the year is turning out to be equally productive for Philip Maier’s experimental-techno project, LACK. In addition to a forthcoming EP for Tone Log, the local producer (and Sagan Youth cofounder) will soon deliver his most ambitious full-length to date on Hot Releases. —Justin Farrar
