Process Series

When: Feb. 29-March 1, 7:30 p.m. 2012
Price: Free

Experience two short works-in-progress by playwright Gabriel Rivas Gomez in this special set of readings. The first play, Scar Tissue, involves a heart surgeon dealing with a patient who reopens some (metaphorical) wounds. The second, Thisability (formerly Klutz), concerns a teenager with cerebral palsy who enters a teen rock competition to enjoy the spotlight. Both plays will be read with the same cast and are sponsored by UNC's Teatro Latina/o Series and Office of the Senior Associate Dean for Arts and Sciences, Carolina Performing Arts, the Department of Dramatic Art, the Carolina Latina/o Collaborative, the Latina/o Cultures Speakers Series, and the Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs. The readings start at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday; admission is free. —Zack Smith
