Prime Cut

When: Dec. 2-11 2011

The N.C. State Art+Design seniors present the best of their work in an annual group show up through Dec. 11 that should be written in pen on your holiday season calendar. Anticipate top-notch illustration work, fiber arts, photography, animation, printmaking and garments in this profoundly multimedia exhibit by 18 young artists set to grab their bachelor's degree either this month or in May. Prime Cut, along with the current ID:ENTITY show at CAM Raleigh, reveals how vibrant and multidisciplinary the Art+Design program is, nurturing expression and technical innovation in an integrated way. Four of the exhibiting artists are Anni Albers Scholars, on the verge of completing a five-year program yielding twin degrees from the colleges of design and textiles. If you missed—or really enjoyed—April's Art to Wear show at N.C. State, Prime Cut gives you a chance to see some of the best fashion items displayed there. Selected pieces will be for sale at the show, located at 133 Fayetteville St. and running 6–11 p.m. Friday as well as 1–4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. —Chris Vitiello
