Porsche by Design "Hoods Up" Weekend

The North Carolina Museum of Art's big Porsche show is heading back to the garage after Feb. 2. To celebrate the show's successes, which include selling $450,000 worth of tickets in a pair of Porsche raffles, the museum is holding special "hoods up" exhibitions that were previously only available to museum members. This weekend, during regular exhibition hours, the following vehicles will have their girded, powerful loins open for inspection: Porsche Type 64 Berlin-Rom Racer, 1938; Porsche Type 356B 1600 Carrera GTL Abarth Coupe, 1961; Porsche Type 901 Prototype, 1963; Porsche Type 356C Carrera 2 Coupe, 1964; Porsche Type 904/6 Prototype, 1965; Porsche Type 908K Prototype, 1968; IROC Porsche Type 911 Carrera RSR, 1974; Porsche Type 959, 1988; Porsche Type 980 Carrera GT, 2005; Porsche Type 911 Sport Classic Carrera, 2010. —David Fellerath
