"First Katrina, then Rita, now you. What's next? A meteor?"
A voicemail message left for New Orleans Times-Picayune restaurant critic Brett Anderson regarding an article he wrote about Emeril Lagasse's post-storm activities. In a year-end column of nasty e-mails and messages he'd received through the year, Anderson wrote of the food-obsessed city: "If reader venom is a sign of normalcy, we can take comfort that Katrina did not wash it away entirely."
