A refreshing response
"A book on same-sex marriage would not itself go against our policies and actually fits in with our diversity policy."
--Chapel Hill-Carrboro schools spokesperson Kim Hoke, when asked by The News & Observer's Keung Hui whether their elementary schools might be using the book "King & King," which is about same-sex marriage. U.S. Rep. Walter Jones (R-Farmville) protested to state school Supt. Mike Ward about use of the book in a Wilmington elementary school.
