Playwrights Roundtable

When: Sat., Jan. 25, 8 p.m. 2014
Price: $10
Let us not forget that for all the canonical plays performed throughout the Triangle, the area remains home to up-and-coming playwrights. The latest to get the spotlight is Chapel Hill's Mark Cornell, whose play Bad Thing won the 2012 National L.W. Thomas Award. The short, about two brothers at a crisis point, will be paired with John Paul Middlesworth's one-act In and Out and a "look at the tangled mess that is male upbringing" titled Heritage Speaking by Paul Newell. The evening, dubbed 3 X 3, is being produced by the Playwrights Roundtable, the development lab of The ArtsCenter. —Zack Smith
