Playmakers Discussion

When: Mon., Jan. 6, 6 p.m. 2014
Through PlayMakers' revival of Nol Coward's comedy of a divorced couple encountering each other on their respective honeymoons with new spouses doesn't open until Jan. 22, you can get in on the discussion early with this cast discussion at McIntyre's. Here are some potential questions to enliven things: What were the challenges in capturing Coward's wit? Is the tone of the play best served by a broad approach or by exploring its darker undercurrents? Did they or any of their parents see any famous past productions, such as the one with John Gielgud and Maggie Smith, or the infamous 1980s one with Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor? Anyway, we're sure you'll think of something, and possibly be inspired to not only see the production but pony up for the "Cafe Society" seating that lets you sit onstage and drink "mocktails" next to the actors. —Zack Smith
