Pints of Science: "Enlightened Pleasures: How Science Went from Entertainment to Vilified"

When: Tue., March 25, 7 p.m. 2014
In the 19th century hot air balloons and public autopsies were entertainment for the average citizen. Even into the 20th century millions tuned in to watch men walk on the moon. Yet, now political and religious opposition to different aspects of science seems to be turning public fascination into public vilification. What events lead us down this path? Have a beer and interesting discussion on the topic.
