Drama, Romance

Vishwas (Shahid Kapoor) dreams of being a movie actor. Unfortunately, his mother's dreams differ. She wants him to be a police officer—an honest police officer. Wearing a khaki uniform costume for an audition, he's mistaken for a real cop and trouble ensues. PPNH hearkens back to the formula of classic '70s Bollywood. There is mother love, lost-and-found relatives, brash musical numbers, comedy and dishoom dishoom (over the top brawls). Indian movies are often entangled in meta, as the self-referential jokes fly, this one builds predictably to echoing one of Hindi films most quoted lines. Silly, but diverting.
