Pegboard Nerds, Elliot Ness, Kure

When: Fri., Feb. 8, 9 p.m. 2013
Price: $10-$13

Dubstep dudes such as Skrillex and Flux Pavilion are casually detangling themselves from the genre, but EDM technicians, including the Scandinavian duo Pegboard Nerds, are still enhancing its bass clumps into beams of trance-floor action. It doesn't take the infamous "can you dig it" monologue from The Warriors stirred in with some diced Punjabi rhythms to do the trick, but they do it anyway on "20K." They ferment even further on "Rocktronik," "Lawless" and their newest single, "We Are One," in which hip-hop duo Splitbreed helps Pegboard Nerds punch into glitch-pop territory. Yes, there's a bug in the system, and yes, you must bug out during these dudes' first appearance in the U.S. Openers include DJ Iris, DJ Emonei and Slashdance. —Eric Tullis
