Peacers, Elisa Ambrogio, Wahya's

When: Tue., Nov. 3, 9:30 p.m. 2015
Price: $5
Peacers is the new project of lo-fi lover Mike Donovan, long of the damaged and delirious Sic Alps. Though many of the songs from the band’s self-titled July debut on Drag City start with slow acoustic chords and rather reserved vocals, don’t expect some sedate affair. “Kick on the Plane” gets weird with power pop, while “R.J.D. (Salam)” catches fire, turning from a country-pysch drift into a searing rock number. Elisa Ambrogio, whose great solo debut The Immoralist remains in rotation, shares the bill with Wahya’s. —Grayson Haver Currin
