Reducing speed limits is not the answer so much as the need to pay attention. Be aware there are others on the road, and mutual respect.

That mutual respect works both ways, bikers! So does "share the road." I ride often myself, but I don't try to hog an entire lane and slow up traffic for half a mile behind me.

While I am at it, lights are VERY important in the twilight hours, but the ones on helmets should be illegal. I hate it when a cyclist looks at me to make sure I know they are there, and I end up blinded by the helmet light.
