Paul Mooney

When: Fri., Aug. 29, 8 p.m. 2014
Price: $32-$78.50
The last time Paul Mooney performed in the Triangle was at Goodnight's a couple of years ago, doing two-and-a-half hour sets. One can't help but wonder if this was the forever-controversial comic's strategic way to make sure audiences walked out before his show was over, polishing his reputation for defiantly provocative humor. Even though Mooney has been battling stage 4 prostate cancer for well over a year, it hasn't stopped the militant funnyman (best known for writing some of Richard Pryor's most groundbreaking gags and appearing on Chappelle's Show) from getting on stage to perform race-baiting, endurance-testing shows that will have some folks bolting for the doors, one way or another.
