Your movie search engine has to be the dumbest, most unintuitive piece of software I have ever used.

Re: “A judge says people are acting like "idiots" and a melee erupts in Durham family court

Having had been in Jim Hills court and have him decide in matters pertaining to my child - his cavalier back woods demeanor is not unique to this case. He comes across like a frustrated high school teacher who lost of the art of listening and hands out detentions because he's all out of ideas. He most definitely abused his power as a NC Judicial Official and took advantage of a vulnerable parent - and if you have never experienced the traumatic experience of going to family court, hush - its a horrible horrible experience. The judgements, and even racial epitaphs in some of these comments are embarrassing.

Jim Hill is very much indeed liked by attorneys. God forbid you enter his court without one - you're toast - no, wait, your child is toast. What attorney wouldnt like that. Jim Hill has had a very negative impact on my child (he deliberated on) as well her siblings and the rest of my family. He did not act in my child's best interest but rather my Ex's Attorney's interest.

Based on this article we know literally nothing about circumstances beyond whats mentioned in this article. I ask Judge Hill and everyone else looking at this - how is having any child's parent, especially a primary care giver, thrown in jail for 30 days for uh, talking back? Thats absurd and Jim Hill she be reviewed by the NC Bar Assoc. for such unprofessionalism.

Re: “Jesus "Chuy" Huerta's family delivers petition to justice department

There's a lot of misinformation, assumptions and jumping to conclusions surrounding this case. There are a lot of questions that remain to be answered. Was Huerta not properly frisked? How did the gun manage to escape the officers detection? In a scramble to remove the gun during transport was it mistakenly fired? Was Huerta attempting to ditch the gun in the back of the cruiser or attempting to harm the officer or himself? Attempting to handle a gun with your hands cuffed behind your back seems like an accident waiting to happen. We'll never know the intent of Huerta. We just won't. To presume DPD deliberately shot the victim seems a bit much and not inline with what little facts have been released. It seems like this is a horrible accident in which an officer failed to detect a weapon held by a teenager that should have never had the weapon in the first place. To polarize the matter and make it a race or socio-economic issue just doesn't seem fitting.
