Patrick Sweany, Brice Randall Bickford

When: Fri., Oct. 16, 8 p.m. 2015
Price: $12-$16
Both artists on this bill don the singer-songwriter hat. Only one pulls it low over his eyes; the other wears it at a rakish angle. Patrick Sweeny, a Nashville-based transplant from the Rust Belt, delivers gritty roots rock with an assured, lightly weathered baritone. On Daytime Turned to Nighttime, the blues guitarist tapped a deep well of influences to make his first “grown-up record.” The local Brice Randall Bickford pulls from the more cerebral end of the influence pool, where one might spot Bryan Ferry suavely side-stroking by alongside Will Oldham. —David Klein
