Patrick Krief, Russell Howard, Eros & the Eschaton

When: Tue., March 19, 9 p.m. 2013
Price: $8-10

Canadian guitarist Patrick Krief isn't a household name, especially in the United States. But perhaps you've encountered The Dears, the larger-than-life rock outfit Krief has played with since 2003. His upcoming album, Hundred Thousand Pieces, offers a more restrained and down-to-earth version of the tunes he plays with his main gig. The album isn't his first musical effort outside of The Dears—he put together his own band, Black Diamond Bay, during a hiatus—or even his first solo release. But with Krief playing most of the music on the album and acting as producer, it's undoubtedly his most personal. Russell Howard opens, along with the excellent Triad import Eros & the Eschaton.—David Raposa
