Re: “Spy Like Us?

I worked in the same Section (Trade and Economics) with Felix Bloch at the U.S. Mission to Berlin in the 1970's. During this period he was appointed to our newly opened diplomatic office in East Berlin. He was a pleasant, intelligent and engaging individual. At that time there were so many spies, moles, counter-spies, spooks and fakes in Berlin that it became a joke. Some of my own experiences as an outsider could have been part of a great Marx Brothers' comedy movie, "Knight at the Opera". Still, it was a great experience.
