Re: “Should Wake County Spend Up to $20 Million to Convert a Failed Fuquay-Varina Golf Course into a Park?

Affordable housing will not be placed where the golf course currently sits. There would be a real upheaval from people who want to protect their home values, and rightfully so.

The argument is the funds being used.

There currently is no county park in southern wake county. Why do my tax dollars pay to upkeep county parks that aren't remotely close to me? People in southern wake county have been funding much of the county projects with little in return.

And the ones that may be built "5 to 6 miles away" are essentially in Raleigh.
