Re: “Your move...(part 1)

What happened to Acts to Follow? Is it gone now? It was always my second favorite part of ADF after Dance for the Camera.

Re: “Film (festival) criticism

I did not make it to this year's Full Frame as I was on a Spring Break vacation and returned too tired to attend one of the last movies but I thought I would share my experiences from the 2007 fest. After studying the website and mailings (not too easy and contradictory) my out-of-town friends and I went to see the Larry Flynt event. We went to the theatre to get last minute seats. No, you need to go stand in line to buy tickets (granted it was just down the hall). There was some problem with payment methods that I can't even remember now. Also, advertised at $10 but actually $20. But, we got in to the movie at an okay time and the event was good. Next day, we go to see Hunter Thompson movie. Now, we figure we need to go stand in line to get tickets like we did the night before. So, we go to the civic center. We wait for an eternity in line. Then, we are told we need to go to the venue at American Tobacco to get last minute tickets. The American Tobacco venue was pretty poor and it's good they dropped it for this past year. Meanwhile, no one seems to be able to provide info. I was thinking as we were standing in line that they could have people roaming around offering assistance. They could have had someone approach us in line and ask, "What are you here to see?" We obviously did not have the festival tags. Oh, and another thing, there were no schedules anywhere. Nowhere. If we did not know what we wanted to see, where it was, and what time; I do not know how we would have found out. I think at the least they could have handed you a schedule if you bought a ticket for a performance. This was my first time really delving into the festival and it was tough. It required real dedication to actually get to see the movies.
