Overtone Series: Roomful of Teeth

When: Sat., Oct. 4, 5 p.m. 2014
Price: $5-$10
Where to begin describing this high-powered evening of contemporary classical music? With Roomful of Teeth, the Grammy-award winning vocal ensemble that mixes Tuvan throat singing, speaking, gospel harmonies, yodeling, Georgian choral singing and pretty much every other sound a voice can make? With Caroline Shaw’s ravishingly beautiful Partita, winner of the 2013 Pulitzer Prize, which shows off Roomful’s best capabilities? Or with flutist Claire Chase, a MacArthur Fellow who presents bits of her wildly ambitious Density 2036 project? Or finally with Jennifer Curtis, whose violin playing is as wide-ranging as her curatorial vision for this series? —Dan Ruccia
