Over the Edge Raleigh

When: Oct. 3-4 2014

WELLS FARGO CAPITOL CENTER—So you want to rappel 30 stories down the Wells Fargo building in Raleigh without getting arrested. Not only does Over the Edge give you the chance, it supports N.C.'s Special Olympics for athletes with disabilities. Four ropes will be in heavy rotation all day Friday and Saturday, as the organizers hope to raise $200,000 for the Special Olympics, adding it to the $550,000 they report netting in the past four years. Each participant will have raised $1,000 for SONC, though watching from the safety of ground level as your neighbors fulfill their Spider-Man fantasies for a good cause won't cost you a dime. Various times, free, 150 Fayetteville St., www.sonc.net. —Brian Howe
