"Ostara" | The ArtsCenter | Special Events | Indy Week
This is a past event.

When: Fri., March 22, 8 p.m. 2013
Price: $12-$16

Something about spring just makes a body want to shed those heavy winter clothes and a few extra pounds that joined us the longest nights of the year. But then there are those special few for whom it inspires to discard ... quite a bit more. Producer Sirona Von Sirius—along with a demure phalanx of local and visiting burlesque artists, fetish performance artists, and belly, fire, aerial and sword dancers—got us through the Mayan change of epoch in a strictly SRO evening of cabaret acts at the ArtsCenter last December. They take it to the next level with this "Springtime Burlesque and Arts Celebration," a raucous evening of song, dance and strip homage to fertility, rebirth and the vernal equinox. Performer/producer Virginia Scare hosts; musical guests the Onyx Club Boys return to accompany a crew that includes Brandy Valentine, Johnny Downunder, Hoopdrum and DJ FM. —Byron Woods
