Orgavin, Hendecatope, Surrealia

When: Wed., Jan. 18, 9 p.m. 2012
Price: Free

Chapel Hill's Orgavin makes wonderfully demented industrial music, with slightly twisted tones that boom and bend beneath melodies and themes that are a little stiff but charming, too. From Bill Withers covers and mean techno, Orgavin's repertoire is a grab bag that always surprises even if it sometimes misses in execution. Tonight's triple bill with Hendecatope and Surrealia is advertised as "Free Electronic Music Night," a welcome addition to the Casbah's general focus on rock, folk and the genteel areas in between. —Grayson Currin
