Note about this year's endorsements

This year, we're unveiling our endorsements in stages—in print and online—beginning Oct. 15.

This Wednesday's print issue includes our take on the Durham County meals tax referendum.

Tomorrow and Friday, we'll publish online our recommendations for the judicial races (N.C. Supreme Court; N.C. Court of Appeals; Wake County District Court Judges; Orange-Chatham District Court Judges) and the soil and water district supervisors.

Next Monday and Tuesday, also online, we'll offer our recommendations for U.S. Senate, U.S. House, Council of State (including governor and lieutenant governor), plus the legislative races.

On Oct. 22, our print edition will have all of our endorsements, including those previously published online. We will also include a handy clip-out voting guide. All of these will be available on this Web site the same day.

Early voting runs Oct. 16 through Nov. 1. During early voting, you can register to vote and cast your ballot on the same day. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 4. You cannot register to vote on Election Day.
