Re: “As of July 28, Raleigh City Council Candidates Had Raised About $280,000. Bonner Gaylord Accounted for Almost Half of That Total.

Update: Mr. Debnam contributed to my campaign through PayPal. However, I returned the contribution. Just wanted to provide this clarification. - David Cox

Re: “45 North Raleigh homeowners file zoning protest petition on “Publix” site

North Raleigh IS getting a Publix. It is opening just north of the Dunn Road site closer to Wake Forest.

Re: “Raleigh City Council weighs a no dancing provision for some bars

"Now it is up to the Council to decide whether to keep that zoning, or make a change," planning director Ken Bowers responded regarding remapping of Dunn/Falls of Neuse to NX.

Bowers chooses to ignore that Council rejected that zoning on May 12 and continues to push using all his influence for NX at that corner. Bowers has relentlessly supported Mack Paul and Mack Paul's clients and has done everything in his power to work against homeowners. Is this the kind of person that should be Planning Director of this great City? I think not!

Re: “We need bigger ideas for Dix Park and mass transit

I volunteer almost every month helping to host a dinner/coffee house for people who have mental or physical handicaps. My wife and I have been doing this for several years at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. We have become aware of the need for independent housing for these folks. I would like to suggest that we honor the memory and work of Dorthea Dix by setting aside resources to build modern, independent housing for those in need that can coexist with what will undoubtably become an iconic park and resource for Raleigh.

Re: “Rezoning for North Raleigh Publix delayed another 60 days

Unlikely to be happy with the decision is an understatement.

Re: “Will Raleigh follow its plan in mediating neighborhood zoning fights?

Doesn't state law require the planning staff to evaluate the rezoning request against the comprehensive plan? If the staff cannot determine the intended use from the request and they don't have enough information to evaluate the request against the comprehensive plan, then they should ask the applicants for more information. How else will the planning department be in compliance with state law?
