No Shame Theatre

When: Sun., Feb. 24, 7 p.m. 2013
Price: $2

I was a theater geek in college, and a favorite pastime in our crew was to write and stage short plays in 24-hour bursts. It was a great way to learn about writing and stagecraft (and to meet girls), and I'd later use workshopped bits from those shows in longer scripts and screenplays. No Shame Theatre stages similar events monthly at the ArtsCenter in a kind of no-holds-barred open mic revue: comedy sketches, dramatic monologues, song, dance, magic, juggling, what-have-you. If you're a writer, bring a script in by 6 p.m.; if you want to act or perform, sign upat the door. Or just take in the show; I bet you could meet some girls, too. —Glenn McDonald
