I was at this show.

I've seen this happen at larger poetry readings. People continually chat during the poet and yes, it's disrespectful. But then a quality poet who can command the audience gets on stage and suddenly the crowd is silent and attentive.

Acting like a spoiled child isn't exactly what I would call quality showmanship, but it did make for a good show.
