Remember when the kids' cable channel Nickelodeon was about rebellion? It was the green-slime-covered, orange-logo-ed home of defying authority and low-budget Canadian fare, literally the home of You Can't Do That on Television. Now what do they have? SpongeBob and iCarly. OK, Avatar: The Last Airbender was pretty good, but that M. Night Shyamalan film is going to sully its reputation. But let's face it, if you're old enough to remember the glory days of Nickelodeon, you're probably old enough to have kids of your own who are glued to the TV daily by the likes of Dora the Explorer and the Backyardigans. And those kids will likely whine, scream and beg you to take them to Nickelodeon Storytime Live!, in which people in unconvincing suits will act out these "educational" cartoons. The rest of us will sit at home and pine for the glory days of Ren and Stimpy and Salute Your Shorts. —Zack Smith
