When: Thu., Aug. 27, 9 p.m. 2015
Price: $5
“Michael Jackson” may have been the huskiest, trillest rap song to come out of the Triangle in 2014. But you probably never heard it or saw it performed, thanks to its author’s elusiveness on the local music scene. Instead, Raleigh rapper Newman took his song and accompanying album, TheTRIP, on the road. Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature, right? Now he’s back home, reunited with some of the young wild characters of his T$A crew and paraded by Virginia’s No Party Left Behind DJ crew. —Eric Tullis
