When: Fri., Jan. 31, 8 p.m. 2014
Price: $5-$7
;If all this doom-and-gloom talk about exorbitant prices, class stratification and Wall Street corruption has got you feeling more than a little jaded about New York City's appeal, On the Town will transport you back to a time when the Big Apple was a glittering symbol of possibility. This 1949 film musical classic stars Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra and features music by Leonard Bernstein and Roger Edens (including an earlier song called "New York, New York"), telling the spirited tale of three dancing, dapper sailors who find love and adventure during their 24-hour shore leave. —Emma D. Miller
