Documentary explores the inner life of Dr. Lucy Daniels, whose childhood has both tormented & motivated her throughout her life. Born into a prominent Raleigh newspaper family, Daniels suffered from severe anorexia & endured brutal treatment at mental hospitals far from home. But by age 22 she had written a best-selling book & won a Guggenheim Fellowship. In 1989 she founded the Lucy Daniels Center, the largest nonprofit provider of mental health services exclusively for children in the Triangle region.
