NC Symphony Summerfest: Rhapsody in Blue and New World Symphony

When: Sat., May 23, 7:30 p.m. 2015
Price: $28-$30
The North Carolina Symphony isn’t waiting for the solstice: Their Summerfest program starts now. Designed for families to hear symphonic favorites over a picnic while the kids romp around in the gloaming, Summerfest kicks off with Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” and Dvořák’s “New World Symphony,” as well as hits from Sousa and Copland. Come early to let the kids try out symphony instruments. —Chris Vitiello
