N.C. Symphony Summerfest: John Williams Festival

When: Fri., June 10, 7:30 p.m. and Sat., June 11, 7:30 p.m. 2016
Price: $38-$40
John Williams is, for better or worse, probably the most successful composer of the last forty years. Even though he’s lifted liberally from the likes of Wagner, Mahler, Holst, and Strauss, his music has been heard and loved (or at least tolerated) by so many. Each of these shows features a distinct chunk of Williams’s cinematic output, building around Harry Potter and Star Wars, respectively. You’ll have to conjure the scenes, though. —Dan Ruccia
