Natalie Cole

When: Tue., Dec. 10, 7:30 p.m. 2013
Price: $45-85
After nine Grammy awards, Natalie Cole didn't retire or fade away; rather, she recorded a Spanish-language album. Natalie Cole En Español is a tribute to both her father, the late balladeer Nat King Cole, and the Salvadorean kidney donor who saved Natalie's life following a 2009 bout with liver disease. She'll perhaps forego most of that bilingual touch in lieu of the classics that got her here—"Sophisticated Lady" and "Touch Me" from Cole's 1976 eponymous album, or her previous tribute to her dad's work, Unforgettable ... with Love. It'd be nice to get a hologram version of Nat, if only to watch the family's legacy of well-conditioned soul be transferred once again. —Eric Tullis
